The village of Rimetea, whose official name was Torockó until the 1960s when the name of the town became known as Rimetea, was famous for its iron ore but also due to special crafts and traditions, one of which was the beautiful Torocko art.
In the past, embroidered fabrics and painted furniture enriched the interior of local homes, but nowadays only few people still know and practice this craft. Stepping into the 1950 Room you may admire the full details of the painted furniture, honouring this precious and rare local craft.
